Savannah Ryle, Birchfield Penuel Architects

From intern to full-time team member—we are excited to announce the return of Savannah Ryle to BPA! She officially rejoins the team following her graduation from the University of North Alabama and participation in the Disney College Program. Her passion for design and problem-solving skills make her an asset to our team.

Where are you from, and what brought you to Birmingham (or to BPA)?

I'm originally from Trussville, Alabama. Staying close to family made Birmingham the perfect place to begin my career. I interned with BPA last summer, and after such a great experience with the team, I was excited to return as a Graduate Interior Designer.

What's your go-to "reset" on a busy day?

A good playlist is my go-to reset. I have a playlist called Landscapes that's filled with film scores and instrumental covers, and it helps me get into a productive flow. If that doesn't work, sometimes you just have to get up and dance it out.

Lightning Round: coffee order, hidden talent, dream travel destination, and one fun fact.

Coffee order: A hot mocha is my go-to. If I'm craving something sweeter, I'll order an iced Caramel Ribbon Crunch.

Hidden talent: I can memorize song lyrics pretty fast.

Dream travel destination: I would love to travel throughout Europe, especially to see architectural landmarks like Neuschwanstein Castle, the Colosseum, Chateau de Villandry, and Gloucester Cathedral.

Fun fact: My last semester of college, I completed the Disney College Program where I worked at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

What is your favorite TV show/ shows currently?

I recently finished Gilmore Girls, and I think it's officially become my comfort show. I love anything that's cozy, nostalgic, and gives off fall vibes, so it quickly became one of my favorites.

What made you want to study interior design?

I have always been drawn to design and how people experience a space. I love how design isn't just about aesthetics but also creating something that feels intentional. That balance of creativity and problem solving is what grew my passion for interior design.
